To illustrate the sponsoring pages on Patreon and Tipeee, I started by making a list of the drawings I need. Then, I made more or less detailed sketches, which will serve as a basis when I get to the inking stage.

For this drawing, for example, I did several tests. I then scanned, enlarged, and printed the chosen sketch, so that it serves as a basis for a more worked penciling.

Then, I used my light table to draw on a second sheet. As I make several attempts for the penciling, it’s convenient to be able to erase without losing the basic sketch (which would have been the case if I hadn’t taken a second sheet).

Same goes for next drawing. I’ve tested many versions of the character’s face, and I got really pissed on the right hands drawings, and I only now realize that they’re way too small, especially compared to the left hand. It doesn’t matter, I’ll scan the penciling later, I’ll fix it on Photoshop, and I’ll print the corrected version to use it as a base for inking. It’s faster than redoing that part of the drawing, and it’s important to save time as soon as possible.

The following drawing was also quite problematic, concerning the hands. I chose to do all the pencilings in a row to optimize my time. Once they’re all done, I’ll ink all the drawings, and I’ll finish with the color.

For the next ten small illustrations, I enlarged the different sketches. I’ve prepared my frames, to make the pencilings at the light table.

The tablet is used to display different inspirations images for my drawings.
By next week, I’ll have finished all the pencilings and I should be well on the way concerning the inkings!
Have a nice day, and see you next time!
